Begin to understand the patterns shaping your life

Many of my clients come to me feeling stuck — in relationships that don't work, careers that feel hollow, or patterns they can't seem to escape no matter how hard they try. As a Licensed Psychoanalyst with over 20 years of experience, I offer a different kind of therapy: one that goes beneath the surface to understand the unconscious forces that shape your choices and experiences.

Through a cooperative, supportive relationship with the right therapist, you can learn how to cope with what life throws your way, and why certain patterns keep repeating — and what you can do to change them. By talking with someone you trust and feel comfortable with, I believe anyone can learn to know themselves better and to live more consciously and deliberately.

My approach is collaborative and non-judgmental. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or a sense that something is simply "off," I'll work with you to develop genuine self-knowledge — not just coping strategies, but a deeper understanding of who you are and what you want.

I work with individuals, couples, preteens, teens, and adults. I offer sessions in Brooklyn, Greenwich Village, and virtually.

I am a licensed psychoanalyst and teacher/supervisor of psychoanalysis in New York State, having received my Certification from the Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies, where I am a faculty member and Board member. Psychoanalysis is a depth-oriented approach that goes beyond symptom management — it helps you understand the deeper patterns and feelings driving your experience, so that change is lasting, not just surface-level.

I welcome you to contact me for a free 15-minute consultation and to see if we are a good fit in working together.

The Approach

Why psychoanalysis?

Most of us have had the experience of understanding a problem clearly and still feeling powerless to change it. Psychoanalysis is designed to help work through those types of problems. Rather than managing symptoms at the surface, it helps you understand the deeper emotional life that informs your thoughts, feelings, and relationships.

In psychoanalysis we explore the push and pull between what we consciously want and what we unconsciously fear, avoid, or repeat. This approach draws on more than a century of psychoanalytic thought, refined through decades of research and clinical practice into one of the most effective treatments for complex, long-standing psychological difficulties.
